The MOVIE in your head.

During my years of selling I finally came to the conclusion that it was the voices in my head that would lead to the end result being successful or not. The struggle was within myself, it wasn’t the client or the product I was selling. It was 100% me. In fact, I came to this conclusion when I worked for the underdog of all products
I realized that even though our product was not as good as the others out there, I was still able to convince my clients that I had a better deal for them most of the time. I noticed that I usually always sold more and outsold my competition for only one reason. That reason was because I could convince myself that what I was selling was the BEST. It was the voices in my head that led me to project a passion about what I was selling. I was passionate about it and I conveyed that message thoroughly with my confidence. Confidence sells and people can see through a faker. I was able to believe what I was saying and therefore never have to FAKE the sales pitch.
Self talk is so important and so transparent to others. Our self talk can be our worst enemy. When we imagine the worst scenario before arriving on a sales call….our self talk is self defeating and it leads to our imaginations actually giving us a visual “expectation.” It looks like a bad movie and we then show the movie to the potential client. They see it in the way we carry ourselves, our tone of voice, and even our gaze.
If we were to imagine before the appointment the end result leading to a final win-win…we would find it almost ALWAYS leads to REALITY.
Try it…imagine it going exactly the way you WANT. The customer extending their hand and thanking you for your service. Now imagine how that feels. If you can imagine how it feels you can project it in your voice and actions and finally ……carrying it out!
If you are struggling in sales, you better change the movie going on in your head….and start with the self talk!
