The Rule of Thirds….with People.

The rule of thirds is found in history as early as 1797 as a rule of proportioning scenic paintings. It is a compositional rule of thumb in visual arts such as, painting, photography and design. The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.
I like to think of the rule of thirds similarly with people. If one were to decide and fully accept the fact that:
- 1/3 of people in general are going to love you
- 1/3 of people are going to hate you
- and 1/3 of people are going to be indifferent towards you…then it would give you a far less difficult task to accomplish.
One would just need to focus on those 1/3 of the people that are indifferent towards you. You really only have ONE job now…get those 1/3 indifferent attitudes to
- recognize
- embrace and eventually
- love you!
Now doesn’t that sound easier?
Now you’ve just freed a lot of time and energy up. Both Good and BAD energy!
Face it, relationships are important in life. In your personal life and business life. If you just focus on that 1/3 and won them over, you could have 2 thirds loving you!
That’s really all we need now isn’t it?
