"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Educating the Entrepreneur starts in Iowa.

Educe…the word is Latin and implies the drawing out of or the bringing out of something… ‘potential.’  The word Educate derives from this Latin word Educe.  Interesting how we have known this for years yet need reminded.  Educating never truly meant to teach us the WAY or tell us the answer.  It just meant to lead us to our own conclusion.

WOW!  Hey, I liked where that was going…but what happened?  Somehow the meaning was lost in translation.  Somewhere we forgot there is rarely ONE answer or ONE way to solve a problem.    It may have worked years ago for the Industrial Age..but that is soo yesterday.

Memorizing, reciting and mundane led to mediocrity.  It didn’t challenge, stimulate, engage or lead us to a creative place.  Yesterdays education  never  inspired the Entrepreneur.  Yet without the mindset of the Entrepreneur we may as well  call ourselves a fallen nation.  We need creative thinkers, innovators and entrepreneurs to create jobs.

You know that old saying “it’s never too late.”  Doesn’t apply here.  If we don’t change the way we are Educating our students and our teachers at College level…it will be TOO LATE.

We will not recognize ourselves in the near future.

However,  Yesterdays education is still ALIVE today in our students classrooms.

Doesn’t that startle some of you?  Doesn’t that just shake you to your core?

We are NOT preparing our children for a future of successes!  That means we are setting them up for failure.

Unless, we take action, listen up and LEAD.

One way to do that is by taking note of the  Innovators of Education like the leaders at Van Meter School in Van Meter, Iowa.  Yes, I said, Van Meter, Iowa.

That’s right.  Call it Corn Fields or a Field of Dreams.  Call it whatever you want… but don’t call it Old School.

Every student has their own Laptop and carries it with them from classroom to classroom while using it to engage eachother as well as kids across the globe.   Yes, I mean from New Jersey to Singapore.

Now that is what I call preparing them for a future of successes.  Teaching them to

  • collaborate
  • connect
  • compare
  • contrast
  • create
  • communicate

These are all the skill sets of the Entrepreneur.  John Carver and Van Meter Schools are changing the face of Education and impacting the world as we know it…in a very positive way.

Welcome to the Future.
