"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Tangled Web We Weave

tangled-lights2Being entrepreneurial spirited and having an interest in the health and fitness world I found myself considering investing in a weight loss franchise several years back. After diligent research on the subject regarding top franchises it became a daunting task to say the least. I decided I would actually work in one of the franchises to determine if in fact there was any truth to a dear friends’ opinion about the matter. She had owned and operated a couple of franchises in New Mexico 10 years prior to my interest. Granted, her experience was not in the weight loss field she felt that her investment in the food franchises had felt much like “buying” herself a job.
I decided that working for a local owner of a weight loss franchise would give me the inside scoop.

Without revealing the name of the franchise my intention of telling this story is not to persuade or dissuade you regarding franchise ownership but to share my experience in the field of weight loss.
For two years, day in and day out, I sat with clients one-on-one listening to their stories that sounded more like war stories from Nam than they did battles of the bulge.

  • I cried with them
  • cheered them on
  • carefully illustrated their nutritional plans
  • encouraged them to exercise, and
  • all while choosing my words ever so carefully.

Weight Loss really is very simple in that physiologically you have to burn more calories than you take in to see results.

But in reality weight loss is like a tangled mass of Christmas tree lights you find at the bottom of a box of ornaments. You see the ball of mess sitting there and as much as you want to work it all out and string its beauty up the way it was meant to shine….you have no idea where to start.

Helping people with their weight loss battles was very much like this and my clients were all very much like tangled masses of emotions begging to be discovered and slowly, patiently worked through …to unravel each and every kink and knot.

Weight Loss is so tightly connected to emotions that you cannot have a truly successful weight loss or what I call “break through” without understanding how and why the weight was collected in the first place. Discovering the reason or the “how” and the “why” is a process I will begin to unfold in the articles ahead in Fearless Ambition Magazine.
If weight loss is something that you battle with you may find that it is closely connected with an emotion you are completely unaware of.  An emotion that lies in the middle of tangled web we call “life“.   A collection of feelings that we have gathered and have not yet dealt with. Only wrapped other feelings around in hopes to snuff them out instead of “deal.”
I look forward to discovering common emotions that may very likely be similar to yours in the future issues ahead and then finding amazing ways of dealing with them hence leading you to the results you are looking for.
