The Dream Life

I have listed FIVE solid key components to help you remember the steps to taking back your life and realizing your dreams. Here it is spelled out:
D – Dream BIG. Think big, visualize big and don’t let people prevent you from doing that on a constant basis. See the desired result more than you see the steps to take in between. Your mind is a powerful, useful tool that is controlling your life whether you realize it or not. There is so much power in visualizing your dreams. Your mind produces energy that radiates from your body and soul. When you practice and perfect the art of doing this everyone around you sees the glow and you will attract the people and things you are actually wanting to attract. Like attracts like. That is not only a scientific fact but a universal truth.
R – Realize your Fears. Define the fears you are aware of and
- ask yourself why you carry them around
- ask yourself what it would take to overcome them
- ask yourself “what if” you knew you had to overcome them to create the life you really wanted
Realize it’s a true fact. You are going to have to overcome them to get happy. All of those obstacles, excuses, barriers preventing you from getting what you want are FEARS. Do what ever it takes to start recognizing them and slowly overcome them. Start with the smaller more recognizable fears and start knocking them out. One by one. Once you start it becomes easier and before you know it your living the life you wanted.
E – Educate Yourself It is easier than ever before to get your hands on knowledge. If you are not doing it you are selling yourself short. The answers to just about every question you could come up with have been researched and layed out in some form or another for you. Read, read and read some more. It will open your mind and help you understand yourself and others. Going through life without self-analysis or understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses is a tragedy. You cannot fully arrive at your desired destination in life without self analyzing, learning about human behavior and reaching out for tried and true methods that others before you have taken the time to prepare for you. It was Mark Twain that said “The man that does not read has no advantage over the man that cannot read.” There is more truth and wisdom in that statement alone than one can ever realize.
A- Act Now – STOP procrastinating! When you have a great idea take action. Do something with it. When you WANT to do something DO IT NOW! Not tomorrow or next week…at least write it down on a list and act on it tomorrow… but only if it’s 2 in the morning! You get the idea though I hope. No man has ever achieved what he wanted by sitting and thinking about it without action. Andrew Carnagie proposed to Napoleon Hill an idea to write a book of success principles by interviewing over 100 people all over the world. It would take him over 20 years to write it. When he asked Napoleon to take on the enormous task Nap. Hill paused for a minute and quickly answered “yes, I’ll do it.” Andrew Carnagie told him if it had taken him a minute more to think about it before answering, he would have retracted the proposal..”for a man that cannot arrive with a quick answer cannot be trusted to finish a job.”
M - Master your weaknesses When one takes the time to recognize their weaknesses and control them they have taken an important step in moving toward their dreams. You cannot successfully achieve a true dream in life when you cannot control weaknesses such as
- alcohol
- drug abuse
- anger
- over indulging in food
- sex
- money
- or any other fixation that interferes with a healthy lifestyle
This includes controlling personality turn-offs such as lying, the habit of not following through with promises, not taking responsibility for your own actions, blaming others, and criticizing others unnecessarily. Other personality habits that often careen out of control and cause reason for failure in life are:
- constantly displaying habits of disorganization
- inability to communicate effectively with others
- having a bad memory
These are all common and some of them natural and not meant to suggest one cannot be successful without having a few of these qualities but one will arrive to their “desired place” faster and smoother when one controls them and manages them properly. Controlling feelings of envy, seeking revenge and or constantly wanting to compete with others unnecessarily are often weaknesses that can prevent you from a successful life as well. One would do themselves well in more ways than one when getting through life understanding these weaknesses and mastering self control.
